North #Manchester venue The Miners re-opens!

We caught up with Louis, from the North Manchester institution that is The Miners.

a) Like a lot of venues the Miners had to close during the lockdown.  What were some of the things that didn’t happen, and are you hoping to reschedule these?
We had to close the venue for months, but received some funding from Forever Manchester, so were still open as a takeaway/delivery service and providing food parcels to local residents, this is still ongoing.
b) what measures are in place for the venue, and what do people have to do differently when they come?
They have to sanitize their hands and wear masks and sign in on entry.
We used to be able to seat 12 customers in our cafe –  this has been reduced to 6, well spaced out.
c) what are some of the things you are hoping to put on in the coming months?
On Saturday we are having a charity and vintage fair 10-4pm with all donations from local residents.
Saturday 31st we have a play in our cinema as part of Manchester Fringe at 7.30pm.
d) anything else you’d like to say.
We are looking forward to welcoming more local residents over the coming months.
