26 organisations sign Open Letter calling for strongest possible scrutiny arrangements

26 organisations have now signed an Open Letter calling for the strongest possible scrutiny arrangements. The letter applauds Manchester City Council’s decision to overhaul the existing scrutiny arrangements so that the climate emergency gets more attention. But it urges for those proposals to be urgent, bold and ambitious.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 31st March, all the councillors of Manchester City Council will have the chance to approve or amend a revision to the remits of the scrutiny committees. Our blog here sets out what the revisions mean, why they lack ambition, and what you can do to take action.

The new signatories to the Open Letter are: Compass Manchester, Ergon Theatre, Friends of the Earth Manchester, Global Justice Manchester, Greater Manchester Tenants Union and Virtual Migrants
