It is with deep sadness that we at Climate Emergency Manchester announce the passing of a dear friend. Our beautiful city’s, science-based, carbon budget has been on life support for some time now.
2026 is predicted by Manchester City Council to be the year when Manchester exceeds its carbon budget, originally forecasted to last the whole of the 21st Century.
Join our funeral wake, to mark this solemn occasion on the anniversary of MCC’s Climate Emergency Declaration.
7pm on the 10th July 2025 at Sandbar, Manchester.
A chance to raise a glass and share memories – the good, the bad, the woefully inadequate.
Dress code (optional): informal mourning wear, dark colours.
