Encouraging people to engage in the single most carbon intensive activity most of us can do is so common that we scarcely notice it, but there is a whole section of the world’s economy (including a fair bit of Greater Manchester’s) that depends on it. Any ‘just transition’ away from fossil fuels needs to include people who work at airports…travel agents…how many others!
