Manchester is a truly a global city. People have come here – recently or long ago – from all over the world. Our diversity is an enormous cultural strength.
So far, so-city-council-spin…. But this: climate change is already affecting people in other parts of the world, who speak other languages. Meanwhile, Manchester City Council is stuck in its familiar cycle of making promises and not delivering. Meanwhile the city burned through a quarter of its carbon budget for the entire twenty-first century in the last two years.
We as Climate Emergency Manchester want to get videos about our climate petition made in as many of these other languages as we can.
First volunteer to do this is our good friend Elsa Devienne.
If you want to make a video, in Polish, in German, in Swahili, in Arabic, in Mandarin, in Creole, in any other language, please get in touch via contact@climateemergencymanchester.net (but please write to us in English!).
