Manchester Climate Change “Agency” has had a long long search for a chair for the ‘partnership’ of organisations that are allegedly helping Manchester become zero carbon by 2038.
They’ve finally announced (1) the appointment of someone from … Arup.
The announcement is of course silent on the inconvenient fact that the city burned a quarter of its carbon budget for the entire 21st century in the last two years alone. Wouldn’t be good to spoil the mood music on day one, would it?
Footnotes
(1) A couple of hours ago CEM put up a post saying no chair had been appointed and that the agency was (instead) looking for a director. The second half is still correct, minus the “instead”. We (specifically Marc Hudson) got it wrong, and apologise for the error.
